Child Protection

All instructors and coaches teaching at the Lewisham clubs have to obtain an Enhanced Certificate from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), who conduct an in-depth search into the background of any applicants. Only after such searches is a certificate issued.

The CRB will alert the JKAE to any potential risk posed by an instructor to children and will take steps to prevent the instructor from teaching. If a certificate is not produced and has not been vetted, they will not be able to teach children as a JKAE instructor.

The JKAE has a dedicated Child Protection Unit within the committee to ensure the association keeps in line with current and future legislation.

Anyone with a query on this subject can contact the JKAE.
